Manager, Data Analysis & Data Operations
Introduction to role
This role will focus on leading and analyzing complex healthcare datasets to ensure data integrity, support business insights, and drive decision-making. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, to implement data pipelines, optimize data workflows, conduct ad-hoc analysis, and enhance reporting capabilities. This role requires strong expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud-based platforms (AWS) as well as experience with ETL tools. Pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
Accountabilities
• Perform data analysis to extract data aligning with business requirements.
• Conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues and propose resolutions.
• Monitor data quality, identify inconsistencies, missing data, and work on remediation.
• Implement and maintain data models, schemas, and structures to support analytics and reporting.
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
• Support business teams by answering data-related queries and developing custom reports.
• Collaborate with the reporting team to ensure data requirements are documented, prioritized, and met, supporting the creation of accurate and actionable insights.
• Act as a liaison between business and IT to ensure clarity and implement changes to existing data pipelines.
• Find opportunities to streamline data processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Track and manage data-related requests and tasks using Jira, Confluence ensuring prioritization and proper demand management.
• Work with external partners to gather data requirements and ensure smooth data ingestion and integration into internal systems.
• Ensure adherence to data governance policies, security protocols, and regulations in handling sensitive data.
Essential Skills/Experience
• 5-6+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Business Analytics, and/or Data Analytics, preferably in the biotech/pharma industry
• Knowledge and hands-on application of various technologies (SQL, AWS, Python, Snowflake etc.)
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sets, including Patient Hub Data, Veeva CRM, Claims (IQVIA/Komodo/Symphony, etc.), and Specialty Pharmacy Data.
• Proficiency in understanding workflows and systems, coupled with strong problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality data.
• Track record of effective functional and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong analytical and organization skills, capable of managing multiple requests simultaneously.
• Desire and ability to learn/implement new tools and capabilities.
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.
Desirable Skills/Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or other quantitative discipline.
• Experience with Data Management platforms with proficiency in Snowflake, AWS, SQL, and Excel.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical data sets, including Patient Hub Data, Veeva CRM, Claims (IQVIA/Komodo/Symphony, etc.), and Specialty Pharmacy Data.
• Familiarity with dBT, GitHub, Collibra, Jira, and Confluence.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities.
