About the role
Tax Business Partnering forms part of the Global Tax Strategy and Partnering Team, within AstraZeneca’s Global Tax function.
As a Senior Manager / Associate Director within the Tax Business Partnering team, you will have a solely advisory position and play a pivotal role in delivering tax advice to the broader AZ business, ensuring compliant and policy-aligned actions across multiple functions and jurisdictions.
Key Accountabilities
The position requires an experienced international tax professional that is able to build strong relationships and become a trusted adviser to the business, supporting a range of business-led initiatives with clear, considered tax advice.
These initiative could include, but not be limited to;
Designing supply chains for new product launches
Supporting complex contract negotiations
Assessing viability of global mobility initiatives
Providing input to strategic location strategies
Advising on tax consequences of debt and foreign exchange planning, and supporting the implementation ofmarket expansion / new market entrance.
The successful candidate will report directly to the head of Tax Business Partnering and be given significant autonomy to manage their allocated portfolio of business units. They must havea strong desire to understand the business and be comfortable working opposite senior stakeholders in a complex and multi-project environment.
Essential experience & criteria
Degree educated with either a recognised tax / accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT etc) or equivalent legal qualification (LLM).
Extensive experience in an international tax role within a multinational organization or leading accounting firm, with experience advising on a range of international tax issues.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
Ability to communicate complex technical matters in written and spoken Englishappropriate toeither a tax or lay audience as may be required.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive and results-oriented, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
