Introduction to role:
The Manager, Creative Programmes and Events for BioPharmaceuticals is part of the Global Corporate Affairs team, focusing on shaping and executing internal and external events that engage employees and external stakeholders around AstraZeneca’s BioPharmaceuticals science and business. Our ambition in BioPharmaceuticals is to transform care for billions of people living with chronic diseases and deliver long-lasting immunity. We aim to intervene earlier to protect vital organs, slow or reverse disease progression, and achieve remission for often degenerative, debilitating, and life-threatening conditions, so many more people can live better, healthier lives.
Through in-depth knowledge of events management, this individual will support the effective delivery of a defined programme of activities to ensure strong engagement and reach across the organisation globally. This position reports to the Senior Director, BioPharmaceuticals Corporate Communications and works closely with the Director, Creative Programmes and Events.
Accountabilities:
- Support the design and delivery of high-impact, in-person and virtual global and local events, including science symposia, conferences, town halls, senior leader meetings, and awards.
- Oversee delegate management experience for conferences and events.
- Manage agency/contractor relationships, overseeing quality and compliance of work.
- Manage associated budgets and project timelines.
- Measure effectiveness of events, providing analysis and recommendations to drive continuous improvements.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Proven ability to manage multiple large scale, complex projects/events.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills to deliver multiple concurrent projects within budget and on time.
- Relevant experience of the live and virtual event environments, with the ability to produce both types of event to a high standard.
- Experience of analytics systems and measurement reporting.
- Experience of managing different stakeholder relationships, confident at forging trusted relationships at a senior level.
- Sound judgement combined with good interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Proven experience of working in a fast-paced global internal communications team or similar corporate communications environment.
- Proactive with high levels of self-motivation and personal accountability, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
