Bio Process Technician

Are you ready to take on a senior-level role in the biotech industry? As a Level 3 Bio-Process Technician, you'll be a subject matter expert and a key player in a high-performing shift team. Your responsibilities will include completing production schedules using MCS automation, managing electronic batch records, SAP materials consumption, performing routine maintenance checks, and driving continuous improvement in work processes and the environment. This role demands advanced skills, leadership abilities, and is not an automatic progression from Level 2. Are you up for the challenge?

Accountabilities:
As a Bio Process Technician, you'll be trained to independently perform core production tasks in cell culture, media preparation, purification, buffer preparation, and equipment preparation. Your role will require leadership skills, acting as a designee for the shift lead and making decisions across operations and maintenance. You'll develop specialisms as a subject matter expert across multiple process technologies, lead operational process improvements, and champion initiatives across shifts and functions. You'll ensure meticulous attention to detail in a cGMP environment, troubleshoot issues during routine operations, assist in investigations through the QTS system, train colleagues, contribute to SOPs and batch records, and seek opportunities for continuous improvement using Lean Tools. Shift work is required, including weekend and periodic rotation between day and night shifts.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Proven technical leadership and complex decision-making abilities in a biotech operating environment.
• Must be able to work within and adapt to complex electronic systems such as process automation, SAP, and Trackwise investigation system.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of biotech manufacturing processes and their translation into documentation such as batch records and SOPs.
• Must be familiar with biopharmaceutical equipment and systems such as bioreactors, centrifuges, autoclaves/glass washers, media/buffer systems, and purification systems.
• Knowledgeable of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and regulatory requirements.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Requires 8+ years’ experience in a cGMP biotech manufacturing environment.
• BA/BS in a scientific field or equivalent experience preferred.
