Introduction to role:

Join our Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit as an Associate Director, Patient Safety Scientist, you will work collaboratively with the Global Safety Physician (GSP) and Senior patient safety Scientist, reviewing safety data and related documents for potential safety issues. You will have the ability to provide authoring and PV input to safety documents and regulatory reports, lead meetings, and present safety data and analyses.

Accountabilities:

Your main responsibilities will include leading proactive pharmacovigilance and risk management planning for designated products, representing PS on cross-functional project teams, presenting safety information at external meetings, and performing duties as a Safety Strategy and Management Team (SSaMT) leader. You will also be responsible for producing accurate evaluation documents with clear conclusions in response to internal or regulatory authority requests for safety data, collaborating with GSP and Clinical representatives, and authoring the Reference Safety Information (RSI) for assigned marketed products and/or development products.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Qualified to degree level in biosciences or an equivalent healthcare or pharmaceutical industry background

  • Proven competency in patient safety/clinical development

  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable Patient Safety regulatory obligations

  • Awareness of Patient Safety policies, processes and procedures

  • Awareness of medico-legal aspects of patient safety

  • 9 to 11 years Patient Safety experience

  • Total of 12 to 14 years of experience

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills

  • Cultural sensitivity

  • Ability to network with other functions globally
