Senior Web Developer
Introduction to role
The ideal candidate will have experience leading development teams to deliver digital capabilities for websites, including front/back-end coding and integration with platforms across the enterprise. As the Software Development Sr. Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for the development team, working closely with digital engagement partners, upper management, and business customers. You will manage the development team's workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure the successful completion of the company's initiatives. Your role will involve managing multiple digital projects/initiatives across intersecting timelines, aligning with strategic business goals to enable future growth. You will be responsible for technical development and delivery of projects, driving process and web technology globally. Collaboration is key, as you will work to become a trusted partner to business and IT colleagues by providing strategic thinking with tactical execution.
Accountabilities
• Oversee the overall development life cycle of solutions and manage complex projects with significant bottom-line impact.
• Collaborate with product managers, platform owners, and digital engagement partners to deliver a strategy and roadmap for web development and technologies.
• Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for new product development.
• Instill best practices for software development and documentation, ensuring designs meet requirements and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules.
• Manage project prioritization, planning, stakeholder management, and tracking of external commitments.
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternative approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines.
• Ensure operational excellence through monitoring and operation of production services.
• Oversee career management and development of direct reports.
• Collaborate with agencies, business, and cross-functional IT partners to define business requirements for digital systems evaluation, piloting, and integration.
• Manage the development and delivery of digital projects, including new capabilities, SLDC delivery processes, and procedures for the Digital Delivery team.
• Coordinate team priorities for digital development and manage outages and incidents to completion, including root cause analysis.
• Educate the technical team on development capabilities, including Sitecore website development and delivery.
• Drive vendor management to align with business priorities and execute IT projects in collaboration with suppliers, business partners, team, and management.
Essential Skills/Experience
• Experience with web development in high availability environment, CMS Architecture and Design, Common API Classes, Security Model, ASP.NET MVC framework and jQuery JavaScript, CSS and HTML5 are a must
• Experience leading onshore, nearshore, and offshore development teams using DevSecOps best practices for digital development and delivery processes and procedures
• Experience designing, developing, and delivering digital assets (websites, databases, mobile apps, social add-ons, marketing automation connectivity) to support corporate, marketing, and commercial plans
• Experience working in a multi-disciplined, multi-functional matrix organization
• Estimation/sizing, Change Order/SOW contracting experience and be able to influence and negotiate successful outcomes in both technical and business arenas
• 2+ years of experience in IT management role (Leading people)
• Ability to travel up to 20% in foreign and domestic travel will be required for this role.
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. Desirable Skills/Experience
• Sitecore certification or 3+ years Sitecore experience
• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Marketing, CS or equivalent work experience
• Experience working in Biotech or Pharmaceutical preferred
• Development knowledge of Data Templates, Renderings, and Content items with configurable/reusable components
• Development knowledge of setting up Content Delivery and Management environments (CD/CM) for live and testing websites
• Excellent at informal leadership, networking, and communication
