Introduction to role:
Reporting to a more senior compliance professional or manager, you will run technical aspects of projects and associated risks within your specialist area. You will maintain administrative control procedures to ensure standards are adhered to and that elements of compliance program are consistently applied. You may give assistance to operational management with regard to general compliance questions and ensure training is available locally where required. You may discover/benchmark other organizations in relation to compliance best practice. You will be increasingly encouraged to act without supervision or with minimal direction to run / deliver high quality project outputs.

Accountabilities:
As a People Services Compliance Specialist working with our partners and vendors, you will lead AstraZeneca’s compliance programs including Affirmative Action, ADAAA, and other employment compliance/reporting programs. You will develop a detailed knowledge and understanding of employment compliance requirements and apply that knowledge in support of the work of HR and managers at AstraZeneca. You will provide oversight and mentorship to AstraZeneca’s HR personnel supporting AstraZeneca’s employment compliance programs.

This role will specifically focus on ADA Administration

  • Review ADA requests for accommodation, engage with employees in the interactive process and provide an organizational decision on the accommodation to the leave and disability vendor and employee
  • Manage complex ADA requests
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local laws related to job protection and accommodating employees with disabilities
  • Administer AstraZeneca’s accommodation policies in a consistent manner while reducing risk to the organization
  • Stay abreast of legislation and national, state and local issues affecting access for employees with disabilities in addition to maintaining a working knowledge of key trends and employer best practices

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with ADA administration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Human Resources - (Under the umbrella of Advisor/Generalist - HR Needs or looking for solutions)
- Ticket systems - Service Now
- Workday
- Data management 
- Microsoft office skills (Excel)

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in support of affirmative action program subject matter expert 
- Conduct interactive process 
- Judgement calls 
- Document any conversations and support why they are making important desitions 
- Strong verbal communication skills
