Job Description

We seek a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as an Associate Director, Data and Analytics Leader. This role will drive the data and analytics strategy of Global Operations, with a focus on data governance, AI (Artificial Intelligence), Analytics, and Data Science. The successful candidate will have a solid background in data management, governance, analytics, and data science and a passion, technical expertise, and leadership skills for demonstrating data-driven insights to enable strategic decision-making.

Accountabilities

•  Develop and implement data and AI governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of Operations critical data assets

•  Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define data, AI, data science and analytics framework and establish data management standard processes

•  Collaborate with IT to develop data products to produce actionable insights are readily available

•  Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning, statistical modeling, and predictive analytics, to solve complex business problems

•  Apply data science methodologies to analyze and interpret complex data sets, identifying trends, patterns, and correlations that drive business value and also to enhance data quality.

•  Provide leadership and guidance to the data and analytics team within GSC&S, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

•  Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data governance, AI, Analytics, and data science, and recommend strategies for adoption

•  Collaborate with IT and Data privacy team to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations

•  Collaborate with business partners to evangelize Self-service business intelligence and advanced analytics to drive data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

•  Bachelor's degree in business administration, Data Science, Informatics, computer science, or statistics

•  Proven 12+ years of work experience in data and analytics

•  Hands-on experience with AI, analytics, and data science tools and technologies, such as Python, R, SQL, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, pandas, or similar.

•  Significant experience in implementing Data governance practices and solutions to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance in a relevant industry.

•  Solid background in data architecture and data engineering.

•  Expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modelling.

•  Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

•  Hands-on experience working with platforms like MS Azure, Databricks, Cloud and is continually able to stay updated with the latest D&A technology.

•  Proficient Knowledge of some key programming fundamentals in Python, Spark, SQL, or similar languages.

•  Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different levels of the organization

•  Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse, distributed team within and across functions. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and AZ values at the appropriate target level.

•  Lead and manage negotiations across complex groups to a target outcome.

•  Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Desirable

•  Master's or PhD degree.

•  Experience in life sciences and healthcare and working across the drug research and development lifecycle.

•  Important knowledge of relevant key business processes.

•  Network of relevant contacts and relationships, including external links.

•  Data Governance and Data Management education and certifications.

•  Applied data management and data science skills, including experience with related tools.
