Senior Director, Cell Therapy Partnerships & Strategy
Strategic Cell Therapy Partnerships across therapeutic areas
Establish strategic partnerships with clinical sites globally to support the AstraZeneca Cell Therapy portfolio, across Hematology, Oncology, Biopharma, Rare Disease, and new therapeutic areas, to ensure clinical trial success and align with long-term aspirations.
Be the primary relationship owner for select strategic partners, ensuring agreement, issue resolution, joint value realization, develop tailored site engagement strategies and help coordinate partnership agreements.
Cultivate, trust-based relationships with KEEs, clinical and administrative site leadership, and external vendors (e.g., American Red Cross).
Represent AstraZeneca at industry meetings, conferences (e.g., ASH, EHA), with Patient Advocacy groups and forums to lead visibility and strengthen engagement.
Implement solutions to expand access in community-based settings.
Collaborate (Site Management, Clinical Operations, External Alliances, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Clinical Development, Manufacturing) to coordinate site strategies across the portfolio.
Engage with sites to understand and address barriers to cell therapy delivery at scale, including infrastructure, capacity, and operational challenges.
Assess and optimize site performance through training, investment, and data-driven improvements in speed, quality, and enrollment.
Support global cell therapy launch aspirations by partnering (Commercial, Medical, Development, and Manufacturing) to ensure seamless transition of sites from clinical trials to commercial readiness.
Perform Medical Monitoring for acute cell therapy toxicities for select studies.
Site Intelligence & Field Insights
Gather, summarize, and communicate field insights on site capabilities (e.g., inpatient vs. outpatient, referral networks) and operational challenges.
Lead archetyping and segmentation efforts to lead site prioritization and network simplification.
Monitor external trends to anticipate market dynamics, guide our decisions, and evolve AstraZeneca's cell therapy site strategy.
You Have:
MD/MS/PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Cell or Molecular Biology, Biological Sciences, Nursing, or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience within a Cell Therapy organization or biotechnology industry, research unit focused on cell and gene therapy, or healthcare system.
Experience leading complex partnerships and programs in a matrixed environment.
Experience with clinical site operations, CAR-T logistics, and the challenges of delivering cell therapy.
Experience balancing multiple opportunities and complete work with based on criticality.
Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards or demonstration of capacity to learn this material.
Experience in a regulated environment either hospital, pharmaceutical/biotech or lab focused on cell therapy.
Travel domestically and internationally up to >50% and to work across time zones.
Desired :
Advanced degree in the Life Sciences or Engineering (e.g., MD, Pharm D, NP, PA, and Biomedical Engineer)
Experience working in Apheresis, Cellular Therapy or Stem Cell Transplant programs.
Prior customer-facing role in pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
Prior clinical experience delivering Cell and Gene therapy.
Experience working with critical raw material suppliers or contract manufacturing organizations.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $233,000 to $350,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
