We are now seeking a Rare Disease Launch Partner, a unique field‑based role that blends launch readiness, customer engagement, and cross‑functional leadership. This is an opportunity to shape end‑to‑end product launches for new indications and compounds, driving strategies that translate into real‑world impact for patients with high unmet medical needs.

About the Role

As a Rare Disease Launch Partner, you will be the critical interface between launch strategy and field execution. You will generate deep market insights, develop pre‑/launch/post‑launch plans, coordinate cross‑functional activities, and ensure each launch is executed with excellence. Through close engagement with HCPs, patient pathways, and key accounts, you will help create the conditions for early adoption and sustainable access.

Key Responsibilities

Launch Strategy & Readiness

  • Shape pre‑launch and launch strategies by generating deep insights through field activities and research on patients journey, assessing market potential, mapping rare disease environments, conducting stakeholders mapping, and generating actionable plans based on those insights  

  • Lead end‑to‑end planning for key product launches, developing go‑to‑market strategies, cross‑functional launch plans including strategy and tactics to ensure successful market introduction.

Field Excellence & Customer Engagement

  • Conduct regular F2F and digital customer interactions to gather insights, support adoption, and strengthen relationships with key accounts.

  • Expand and nurture a strong KOL/HCP network by offering evidence‑based solutions aligned with customer needs.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Commercial, Marketing, Medical, and Market Access to map patient journeys, understand local barriers, and develop coordinated engagement plans.

  • Collaborate with other relevant functions that can support the launch planning and execution

Account Planning & Pathway Optimization

  • Identify local/regional needs to create robust account and brand plans, prioritizing initiatives that improve rare disease diagnosis, patient flow, and treatment pathways.

Diagnostics & Referral Activation

  • Support early and accurate diagnosis through targeted educational initiatives and partnership with HCPs and diagnostic centres.

Excellence in Tactical Delivery through Content Creation & Customer Projects

  • Develop customer‑facing content and campaigns (digital and traditional) with clear messaging to enhance disease and brand awareness.

  • Co-create projects with accounts that improve patient journey and care delivery (within regulatory limits).

  • Track performance KPIs and adjust tactics to maximize launch impact

On‑Label Scientific Communication

  • Following EMA approval, clearly present complex clinical evidence to support appropriate prescribing and ensure accurate understanding of Alexion’s rare disease portfolio.

Your Profile

Essential

  • Degree in Life Sciences or qualification as a healthcare professional.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry (medical, marketing, or commercial).

  • Demonstrated experience in product launches.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify territory opportunities and challenges.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for improving patient outcomes in a dynamic environment.

  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Growth mindset: adaptable, curious, and resilient.

  • Fluency in German and English.

Desirable

  • Experience in Rare Diseases and an existing network in Neurology, Rheumatology, or Endocrinology.

  • Pharmareferentenprüfung or a degree in medicine, pharmacy, or veterinary medicine.
