Global Finance Services (GFS) is at the heart of the AZ Finance function. We are accountable to the AZ Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes which combined with exceptional business analysis and insight, enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities. Our remit covers record to report, procure to pay and order to cash, tax, planning and forecasting and management reporting.
Your core deliverables will include:
- Coordinate and analyze data from a variety of sources and provide information to support business decisions.
- Deliver adequate financial input & analysis to support individuals and teams to make effective business decisions.
- Close cooperation with local Financial Controller to ensure that entity’s books provide true and fair view of its financial situation.
- Accountability for the monthly statutory reporting for the market, ensuring that all closing activities are completed accurately and in a timely manner whilst delivering robust month end financial information to the wider business.
- Manage Month End close process on behalf of the respective market, supervising and supporting the activities undertaken by the R2R transactional Back Office team based in India, working collaboratively with the local market and wider finance community to deliver the month end close processes.
- Review of key Balance Sheet Reconciliations prepared by RTR Tower and ownership for relevant actions to investigate and mitigate unreconciled/aged items.
- Preparation of journal entries, which require analytical insight.
- Performing relevant internal SOX/FCF controls designed to prevent and mitigate key risks for the financials of the company, ensuring the accuracy of reported results.
- Cooperation with other process towers/subledger teams (e.g. P2P, OTC) to investigate, solve and prevent potential issues.
- Performing other financial activities, including external audit support, preparation of tax, statistical and ad-hoc reports requested by local Financial Controller or Corporate, cooperation with Intercompany Team to proceed with IC recharges, etc. (depends on particular entity)
- Driving actions aimed to standardize existing processes and eliminate potential gaps
Other role requirements
- Support continuous improvement in Finance processes and capabilities and ensure compliance with financial governance standards taking accountability for control frameworks as appropriate.
- Drive simplification of finance processes across markets and team and foster a culture of best practice sharing.
- Assist in better business decisions by provision of financial expertise and insightful analysis to all ad hoc reporting queries in line with SLA and provide support to on-going projects.
- As required coordinate work and provide on-the-job SME coaching to less experienced analysts.
Essential for the role
- Qualified finance professional or equivalent (relevant studies or professional certificate, for example ACCA/CIMA).
- At least 5 years R2R/GL/Controlling experience.
- English language proficiency is a must (both verbal and written)
- Good PC skills including SAP & Excel skills.
- High degree of accuracy with attention to detail.
- Experience in an accounting capacity within an international organization.
- Lean mindset, ability to detect problems, identify possibilities and propose solution.

- Ability to work well in and across diverse global teams.
- Experience in working in a customer orientated organization.
