Location: Warsaw

Hybrid Model: minimum 3 days from the office in Warsaw per week

Business area

Global Finance Services (GFS) is at the heart of the AZ Finance function. We are accountable to the AZ Group for the design and delivery of high quality, simple to operate transactional finance processes which combined with exceptional business analysis and insight, enable our customers to focus on AZ’s strategic priorities. Our remit covers record to report, procure to pay and order to cash, tax, planning and forecasting and management reporting.

Role Profile

As a Business Analyst you will provide expertise to ensure the financial reporting of the companies’ business change initiatives are correctly reflected and will be the main point of contact for the business.  You will be required to work across geographies, teams and business areas to coordinate and analyze data from a variety of sources and provide information and reports to key internal and external stakeholders. Within the role you will be required to identify and drive continuous improvements as well as ensuring that the wider business changes affecting the process are implemented as well as supporting and mentoring the Business Analysts in both their day to day activities and personal development.

Your core deliverables will include:

  • Acting as a business partner and subject matter expert, working closely with senior stakeholders to provide analytical and strategic support, primarily concerning the global divestment process.
  • Being accountable and responsible for the end-to-end closing processes, while adhering to AstraZeneca accounting policies and standards. This includes coordinating the month-end closing and ensuring that all activities and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Preparing journal entries requiring analytical insight.
  • Performing internal controls designed to prevent and mitigate key financial risks.
  • Preparing and reviewing a variety of reconciliations, and providing in-depth analysis of balance sheet account movements.
  • Preparing and reviewing accurate, in-depth monthly reports, some of which will be provided to third parties, and providing critical analysis of variations.
  • Working across different markets, delivery centers, and process towers to ensure accurate, high-quality financial information is provided to business teams and third parties.
  • Managing data collection and proactively handling queries from internal auditors, local stakeholders, and Group Financial Reporting.
  • Coordinating audit processes, including the preparation and review of reports.
  • Assisting in better business decisions through the provision of financial expertise and insightful analysis.
  • Identifying and delivering opportunities for standardization and continuous improvements.

Requirements

  • Qualified finance professional or equivalent (relevant studies or professional certificate, for example ACCA/CIMA).
  • At least 5 years of R2R/Controlling experience.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Knowledge and experience with the following tools: SAP, MS Excel,
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Experience in accounting department of international organization.
  • Lean mindset, ability to detect problems, identify possibilities and propose solution.
