Are you a passionate scientist with expertise in histology and immunohistochemistry? As a Translational Scientist, you'll be providing scientific, technical, and administrative support for a wide range of Translational Pathology (TransPath) projects. You'll be working closely with our scientific and pathology teams, Translational Medicine leads, project managers, and Computational Pathology Munich among others.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you'll be performing routine and non-routine histology and slide/tissue staining. You'll also be responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating tissue staining protocols. Additionally, you'll perform macrodissection of tissues on slides to isolate regions of interest and manage slide digitization, metadata assimilation, and image/metadata upload to Computational Pathology Munich. You'll also support and prepare incoming and outgoing human biological sample shipments.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and >2 years experience in clinical, translational research, medical technical role, or a pathology/histology laboratory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in use of relevant computer programs (Microsoft Office, Excel and MS Project)

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Familiarity with GxP/ICH regulatory requirements
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and documentation practices

About the Waltham Site

Our Waltham, Massachusetts facility develops life changing small-molecule research in North America, with innovative laboratories at the Gatehouse Park BioHub, just west of the city center. Our BioHub facility, is a bold new R&D initiative, which fosters life science discoveries and the exchange of ideas. Here, we play host to some of the most cutting-edge technology and lab spaces, all designed to inspire collaboration and cross-functional science.
