In vivo Senior Scientist Hematology Oncology

This Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Scientist in cancer pharmacology with a track record of scientific excellence in the area of in vivo pharmacology, to join our team in Waltham MA USA. As a Senior Scientist you will be leading from the bench and a member of the in vivo team focused on delivering in vivo pharmacology datasets that will have direct impact on the drug discovery process and pipeline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use in vivo technical skills to support our oncology platform by:
    • Working hands-on in the lab developing and working with various in vivo models of cancer including subcutaneous xenograft models, disseminated models, PDX models and humanized models.
    • Conducting in vivo pharmacology studies (tolerability, PKPD, and efficacy) and delivering comprehensive in vivo pharmacology data packages to support early and late-stage drug discovery programs.
    • Profiling of tissue samples to explore mechanisms of drug response and resistance using both traditional and novel approaches.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and flexibility in working with various programs and databases to capture all study data for broad access by project teams and stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across disciplines to develop and implement aggressive work plans and timelines.

Essential requirements:

  • MS with 4+ years’ experience or PHD with 2+ years of experience in biology, pharmacology, or related field with a minimum of 2 years “hands-on” in vivo experience.
  • Practical in vivo experience and experimental skills in the use of mouse models
  • Ability to work both independently as well as within project teams and across disciplines such as DMPK and translational medicine.
  • Exceptional communication, listening and organizational skills. Ability to analysis, organize and present data in an appropriate manner for a given audience.  
  • Practical In vivo experience and experimental skills in the use of animal models.
  • Must have foundational experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques including Flow cytometry, Western Blot platforms, RT-PCR platforms, ELISA/MSD, and assay development troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of statistical methods and quality control of data.  
  • Familiarity with in vivo database capturing systems ie Study Log or a similar program, Prism GraphPad and Microsoft suit.

Additional experience desired:

  • Experience with orthotopic xenograft, humanized models and disseminated hematologic cancer models including tissue collection and necropsies.
  • Experience with spectral flow cytometry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to design flow panels and analyze biomarkers in blood and tissue samples using MACSQuant and/or BD instruments and analysis in FlowJo and Omiq.

The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $109,301 to $163,952. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
