[Alexion Japan] Senior Manager, Launch Planning Lead

This is what you will do:

The Launch Planning Lead will drive projects, generate insights, and make recommendations that will enable compliant, efficient, and effective execution of product launch preparation across Alexion’s portfolio to support successful launch of many new products. The individual will enable teams to set up, track and communicate on launch planning progress through the development of dashboards, KPIs/metrics and reports that reflect readiness and leading indicators of launch success. Importantly, the individual will identify lessons learned from each launch, share them across therapeutic areas and assets, and report them to global Launch Lead and Japan Leadership Team. The individual will work closely with the launch teams to populate cross-functional launch plans. This position is highly visible among Alexion Japan’s Leadership Team, given its impact on the company’s growth. This individual will be highly collaborative and thrive in a matrix environment, working with colleagues from various functions and focused on assets at different development stages. The Launch Planning Lead will be part of the New Product Planning in Alexion Japan and report to the director of New Product Planning.

You will be responsible for:

  • Launch Plan Creation/Launch Coordination

Acts as a Project Manager for new indications and new products

Facilitates timely and accurate inputs into the launch planning tool for real-time progress tracking and flags areas for deep dives

Is a “connector” to other relevant processes including Strategic Planning, Tactical Planning to enable seamless launch planning

Drives partnership with Global and Japan launch teams to generate plans leveraging the Alexion launch model and based on product strategy

Supports teams through the application of lessons learned and best practices propelling operational excellence

・Launch Insights and Analytics

Communicates launch planning progress to leadership leveraging outputs from the dashboards and strategic analysis to assess the launch readiness

Distills lessons learned from each launch including pinpointing impactful deliverables and relevant timing to enable effective launches

Creates/consolidates dashboards, KPIs/metrics, and reports on launch planning progress and the portfolio and provide actionable insights and recommendations to achieve launch readiness at key milestones

Generates, in collaboration with launch teams, custom dashboards and reports to monitor and assess launch readiness

  • Strategic Marketing

Develop marketing strategy for early stage products based on target product profile, customer insights and unmet medical needs.(The therapeutic areas focused on will be hematology/nephrology)

Lead a cross-functional launch team to ensure a successful launch

Communicates with global teams to align strategy

  • Systems operation

Is the “System Administrator” of the launch planning tool including managing ad hoc requests/support needs from teams on Smartsheet in Japan

Supports launch team for the operation of Smartsheet

You will need to have:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in the healthcare industry that may include Marketing, Project Management, Business Analytics, Business Development, Corporate Strategy and/or Financial Analysis, Consulting
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with launching products
  • Prior experience in rare diseases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly in Excel and PPT
  • TOEIC score of 800 or above.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field, demonstrating an aptitude in science
