Health Economics Outcomes Research Director CENE - Alexion

Are you ready to lead the charge in health economics and outcomes research?

As the Director for EUCAN & International HEOR in the CENE Region, you'll be at the forefront of strategic development and execution, supporting the launch and reimbursement of Alexion products across Nordics, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

This pivotal role, based in the Nordics, is part of our Global HEOR team. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed global HEOR strategies into broader disease areas and clinical development plans. Your leadership will help demonstrate and differentiate the value proposition of Alexion products for payers, Health Technology Assessment agencies (HTAs) patients, clinical institutions, and key influencers.

Reporting directly to Karl-Johan Myren, HEOR Head for the EUCAN & International Region, you'll partner with Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams to address specific HEOR needs and opportunities across the CENE markets

What you will do

This role is responsible for developing and implementing tailored HEOR strategies that optimize patient access and reimbursement across the CENE region. Drawing on in-depth health economics expertise and disease area knowledge, the position works closely with both global and cross-functional teams to shape business strategies, generate payer-relevant evidence, and maximize portfolio value. Responsibilities include building relationships with industry experts, presenting at professional forums, contributing to scientific publications, and overseeing external agencies to ensure research excellence and impactful evidence generation. The role also supports process improvements and enables successful Health Technology Assessments throughout the product lifecycle.

Essentials for the role

Ideal candidates will possess an advanced degree in health economics or a related field and bring over ten years of experience in HEOR or Market Access within the biopharmaceutical industry. A strong background in health economic modeling, real-world data and evidence generation, and a thorough understanding of the global market access landscape are required. Experience negotiating with payers and HTA agencies—particularly in Nordic markets or the Netherlands—as well as familiarity with the drug development and commercialization process, is essential. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, strong project management skills, and expertise in communication and stakeholder engagement are expected.

Proficiency in English is required, along with a proven ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment. Experience in rare diseases and patient-reported outcome measures will be highly valued.

In-person working gives us the platform we need to connect, work at pace and challenge perceptions. That's why we work, on average, a minimum of three days per week from the office.
