Rare Disease Business Unit Director
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for sales and expenses budgetary compliance, and overall P&L management for the Business Unit.
- Leads and develops the sales and marketing teams including but not limited to performance management, talent management and career development.
- Consistently gathers insights, developing KPI’s, and analytics strategy to continuously improve customer experience.
- Leads activities across brands, including the definition, design, execution and measurement of all marketing strategies and tactics to deliver on the brands’ objectives.
- Responsible for sales execution and attainment of associated KPIs within geography.
- Comply with the standards and procedures that apply to the development and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) of the Central America & Caribbean Area (CAMCAR).
- Report any quality event and complaint related to AstraZeneca products as per local procedures.
- Supports AZ’s external leadership objectives, identifying and developing strong internal and external alliances for cross functional planning and programs as core elements to create opportunities in the market.
- Sets direction for team and standards for success, leading and inspiring diverse, cross-functional teams to achieve performance results.
- Leads and develops sales and marketing teams to drive performance and results, through performance management, talent management and career development.
- Effectively coaches team, delegating responsibilities and guiding individuals to enhance their performance and skills.
- Consistently displays behaviors related to AstraZeneca’s values of following the science, putting patients first, doing the right thing, and being entrepreneurial.
- Works with the SLT to develop short- to long-term AZ rare disease strategy to ensure portfolio success.
- Inspires and leads the capability development for Business Unit teams and individuals.
- Ensures effective talent management, recruitment & succession planning.
Education, qualifications, skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead large teams to achieve results
- Demonstrated Level 3 abilities across all 6 AZ Leadership Capabilities
- Comprehensive understanding of the development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
- Comprehensive understanding of the CAMCAR Healthcare environment
- MBA in relevant field (desirable)
- Previous exposure and/or experience in other functional areas of the business such as Sales/Sales Leadership, Market Access, Marketing/Brand Team, and Operations in CAMCAR markets (desirable)
