Operational Excellence & Learning Specialist
Introduction to role:
The Operational Excellence and Learning Specialist is a responsible for overseeing the site's learning management and capability program. This individual will also support team coaching through the practical application of Lean and Six Sigma tools and techniques. Key responsibilities include setting strategic direction for business process management (BPM), Lean Management system and the site's training program, and overseeing learning processes. Additionally, the role involves collaboration with the PET Lead and the local Cornerstone (SABA) administrator.
Accountabilities:

- Develop and implement strategies for lean management and business process management to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Oversee the learning program, including the design, delivery, and evaluation of training initiatives aimed at building organizational capability and driving continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to align process management and learning strategies with the site's overall objectives and goals.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to assess the impact of lean initiatives and learning programs, and make data-driven recommendations for enhancements.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement projects, ensuring sustainable and measurable results.
- Collaborate with other site Operational Excellence and L&D Practitioners to ensure a unified approach in executing AZ Supply System and L&D Strategies.
- Act as the Business Process Owner (BPO) for the site's Learning & Development process, aiming for continuous improvement in process maturity and working closely with area leaders to create and execute the Learning and Development Strategy.
- In charge of communication and change management initiatives to support organizational transitions and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee the new hire onboarding process to ensure a smooth integration into the company and alignment with strategic goals.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a learning & development, training, quality or operational excellence or related field in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or related environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A working knowledge of cGMPs regulations.
- Well-developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills
- Experience administering and working in a learning management system
- Understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design, and a variety of learning methodologies.
- Good project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to interpret strategic objectives (corporate, site, and functional area) and convert to practical work processes.
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferably in a team development/organizational design/training field (e.g., education, instructional design, instructional technology, human performance improvement (HPI), organizational design)
- Lean/Six Sigma experience
- Strong working knowledge of cGMP’s and Safety, Health, and Environmental regulations.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $93,200 to $139,800. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
