In this role, you will leverage your expertise and leadership to develop and implement inclusive pricing strategies for a diverse portfolio of AstraZeneca products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape strategies that align with market access and brand planning, while offering insights into emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities. You will play an integral part in negotiations with both public and private payers, ensuring alignment with our strategic direction.

Accountabilities:

  • Offer subject matter expertise on Canadian and provincial pricing regulations to support the success of our teams and portfolio.
  • Develop pricing strategies that reflect the full product lifecycle, including launch, negotiations, and transitions.
  • Partner with pricing managers to create financial models and explore innovative pricing solutions.
  • Actively participate in negotiations with public and private payers, ensuring optimal commercialization of new and existing brands.
  • Provide guidance on the implications of regulations and health technology assessments (HTA) and recommend strategies to address any challenges.
  • Lead the approval process for product pricing strategies, ensuring alignment across local and global teams.
  • Oversee contract terms and conditions, including innovative agreements, that support brand goals.
  • Lead tendering processes with key agencies and partners

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, life sciences, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven ability to recommend and implement effective pricing strategies.
  • Experience with pricing in diverse markets, such as public, private, hospital, and public health sectors.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with the ability to perform business impact analysis.
  • Familiarity with Canadian payer environments, pCPA, and PMPRB regulations is an asset.
  • Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) and handling tendered products.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and time management skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence at all levels.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of inclusion, where diverse perspectives and experiences are valued.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
