As a Senior Director, Oncology Diagnostic Assays you will…
Define strategies and lead AstraZeneca’s response to sophisticated technical issues for specific medical aspects in relation to existing and new projects, and various plans and you’re your expertise and knowledge of global issues to develop strategic objectives for inclusion into AstraZeneca’s annual business objectives
Provide expert advice, influencing the development of technology and data analytics internally and with partner organisations relevant to current and anticipating future Global Clinical Development
Effectively integrate data on new compounds and information on targeted diseases into strategy to ensure innovative support for drug development projects
Liaise with the internal and external medical and technology community to follow developments within areas of expertise
Act as a subject matter expert including governance review of strategic and specific initiatives
Lead regulatory communication and preparation of higher level documents
Manage or support complex and groundbreaking projects to improve processes within Translational Science or develop and introduce new technologies and approaches at the national, regional or global level
Ensure that your own work and work of function is aligned with Good Laboratory Practice, Safety Health and Environment standards and all other relevant internal and external regulation and standards
Required Education, Experience & Skills
PhD or equivalent, MD or equivalent strongly preferred
Experience of the development and application of circulating tumor DNA assays for clinical use
5+ years of experience in aligned to the drug development or process in industry or academia or equivalent
Extensive experience of crafting and implementing clinical trials using novel biomarker approaches for the earlier identification of patients
Well-developed understanding of biomarker analysis
Experience of communicating complex science to a clinical audience including external professional and regulatory bodies
Proven experience managing and designing clinical trials
