Our Position

Are you ready to take on an exciting opportunity to partner with AstraZeneca's R&D units and influence the delivery of our medicines? Join our growing Procurement team in Mississauga and play a crucial role in ensuring our scientific innovations reach patients quickly and efficiently.

As the R&D Clinical Procurement Manager, you will be the Study Procurement Partner of Clinical Operations within one or more therapeutic areas. You will collaborate with stakeholders to provide therapeutic area input to the category teams, who develop long-term strategic plans. Your support in implementing these plans across Clinical Operations will ensure that process improvement and procurement activities deliver the expected business value.

Our Mississauga site is part of AstraZeneca's Global Procurement Services, a strategic function that connects our diverse functions and answers to all their sourcing, contracting, category management, and contract management needs. In this role, you will:
- Act as the single point of contact for R&D Procurement within Clinical Operations in your therapeutic area(s)
- Develop relationships to optimize business performance and to share new insights, identify future improvement opportunities
- Build strong relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction
- Oversee program and study-related contracting within one or more therapeutic areas
- Manage demand planning and forecasting within your therapeutic area(s)

To excel in this role, you should have:
- Degree level qualification (or equivalent experience)
- At least 5 years of Procurement Experience, ideally gained in supporting global categories of spend within a globally matrixed organization
- Project management, change management, and people management skills
- Ideally a working knowledge of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Expertise in at least one area of Procurement or relevant R&D experience
- Proven leadership & stakeholder management experience
- Good communication skills, ability to influence others, and awareness of how to work across cultures
- Comfort with risk and ambiguous situations
- Curious mindset and a desire to challenge yourself to continuously learn and develop
