Principal Business Enablement Lead

The Development Operations Business Enablement department is responsible for overseeing activities critical to the seamless operation of Development Operations. This encompasses various areas of Operational Excellence, including Quality & Compliance, Process Management, and Strategic Sourcing. As a key member of this team, you will contribute and/or lead in driving initiatives aimed at executing and implementing business and sourcing strategies to support the delivery of the Development Operations portfolio. You will enhance operational efficiency and/or sourcing effectiveness using change management and project management principles. Your responsibilities will extend beyond operational excellence and/or sourcing expertise as you will serve as a positive role model and may act as a peer mentor for team members. Additionally, you will act as a representative of Alexion, fostering strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and/or suppliers.

Accountabilities

- Lead cross-functional collaboration to identify, design, and implement portfolio delivery solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Serve as process owner and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Development Operations activities, ensuring consistent standards and best practices.
- Develop and implement comprehensive tools, guidelines, and training materials for study-related processes, metrics, and financial tracking.
- Guide and advise stakeholders, including Functional Service Providers and Clinical Research Organizations, on process optimization and system improvements.
- Lead pivotal initiatives to promote broader and more effective use of data, tools, and processes across the organization.
- Drive consistency and standardization of standard processes across Development Operations through cross-functional collaboration and leadership.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in clinical practice/healthcare, life sciences, or drug development with 3-5+ years of clinical research experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Project management experience in drug and non-drug projects.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder decisions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for interaction at all levels internally and externally to the company.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Expert with MS Office programs, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical data management in global trials.

  • Experience in SOP writing.

  • Knowledge of Change Management principles (and experience in implementation).

  • Experience in document management systems.
