Summary of Position:

As a member of the Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence Team, the Media Manager will report to the Senior Manager of Marketing Innovation & Digital Excellence. The role involves shaping our organization's strategy for paid media planning and purchasing in Canada to support brand marketing objectives. This includes providing strategic recommendations on integrating paid media into the promotional marketing mix for various markets and brands. The Media Manager will develop relationships with local Marketing teams in Canada, media agencies, extended business units, and channel partners to advocate for the development, implementation, expansion, and evaluation of media campaigns aimed at healthcare professionals and consumers. This position is a 12-month engagement.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and hard-working change agent with expertise in media, who excels in collaboration across multiple stakeholders to craft and deploy media strategies. The successful execution of these strategies requires the candidate to remain objective while offering support to brands and the wider organization in leading and monitoring media agency performance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Primarily support Health Care Professional (HCP) and direct-to-consumer media campaigns, while also assisting Digital Customer Engagement Managers with media planning and strategy for launching and monitoring paid media campaigns successfully.
  • Collaborate with the Canadian IBEX and IT Team and the Global Media Strategy EUCAN Leader to advance the Canadian Media Strategy framework and ensure compliance with corporate and brand safety standards and local regulations.
  • Run and lead Media Agencies in the planning, purchasing, performance management, and optimization of integrated paid media campaigns.
  • Aid Digital Customer Engagement Managers in establishing market-specific media buying best practices, providing guidance on ad formats, placements, brand safety, and ad verification standards.
  • Assist in developing media strategies for the Canadian market, leading all aspects of media planning activities to ensure they align with brand goals and objectives.
  • Conduct informal and formal media education sessions to enhance the media knowledge and skills of internal partners.
  • Encourage cross-departmental collaboration by working effectively with internal and external partners in aligned capabilities, such as IBEX-IT and Local/Regional Procurement.
  • Identify and address data, platform, or technology gaps that might impede successful test and learn deployments.
  • Participate in annual Brand Strategic Planning (BSP) and contribute to developing brand insights through brainstorming sessions that assess market, audience, competitive, and campaign insights.
  • Advocate for new, emerging, and evolving media channels to brands and agencies.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Business Intelligence teams to design campaign goals/KPIs and create effective measurement frameworks.
  • Support standardization and distribution of standard processes across different brand teams.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2-3 years of experience in paid media across digital channels (such as paid search, paid social, display banner, and online video advertising) and traditional channels (including print, radio, out-of-home (OOH), and TV) for planning or buying.
  • Holder of a Bachelor's Degree or possess equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian paid media regulations.
  • Experience in client relationship management and internal management.
  • Ability to influence both internal and external partners effectively.
  • Proven track record of planning, developing, and implementing media plans, ideally in a cross-channel environment.
  • Preferred expertise in innovative digital media platforms and technologies, including ad networks, exchanges, DSPs, DMPs, RTB platforms, display, video, dynamic creative optimization, programmatic buying, social media, native ad units, and content marketing.
  • Familiarity with using 1st and 3rd party data for targeting and segmentation.
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments and acting as a liaison between agencies and media-naive teams.
  • Comfortable contributing to and prioritizing multiple high-level projects in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Experience with campaigns targeting a diverse range of customer groups is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to listen and clearly explain complex ideas and technologies.
  • Self-motivated and independent, with a collaborative "plug-and-play" approach.
  • An excellent presenter and facilitator, skilled in crafting effective workshops for senior colleagues and internal partners.
