Data Curator - 3 Month Contract

What you’ll do:

As a member of Late Phase Data Management Department, this role analyzes clinical data and metadata to identify patterns and trends in the data that will be used to improve data collection quality and reviewing and cleaning of clinical trial data under the supervision of Principal Data Curator. This role will crunch both operational and clinical data to bring insights to the Data Management Team using various blends of analytical, data science and data development skills to assess data curator project objectives, understand the data and system landscape, then use this information to design, generate and verify outputs.

  • Be familiar with data formatting, wrangling, transformation and working ‘smart’ with existing data to achieve results rapidly

  • Support teams on how best to utilize data in order to reduce redundancies in data collection

  • Use technical, creative problem-solving and all-round good development practice skills to help achieve successful outcomes

  • Support design data preparation workflows and define outputs (e.g., proposed data models and modes of access) and success criteria for projects

  • Perform data wrangling, cleaning, combining, transformation, cross-linkage etc. to achieve new datasets and data assemblies that enable specific data-scientific research workflows to be conducted to a high-quality standard and in an accelerated manner.

  • Perform data verification and UAT

  • Identify patterns in the analyses across studies and using those patterns to support decision making

  • Support data management team decision-making in clinical processes by identifying, extracting and presenting back meaningful facts and data via internal and external information sources

  • Use techniques such as: text mining, data visualization to extract key relevant information proactively enabling data management decisions

  • Maintains a commitment to the values and mission of AstraZeneca

  • Collect and report Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and SOPs

Essentials for the role:

  • Pursuing a Computer Science/Data Analytics degree or equivalent background; able to work for 3-8 months to complete this contract

  • Candidates with data science background (e.g. Python, Power BI, SAS, SQL, Tableu etc.)

  • Experience or knowledge in data analysis profiling, investigating, interpreting and detailing data requirements, e.g. data modelling techniques and hands on modelling experience; equally comfortable building dashboards and reports, and doing deep-dive analysis

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to multitask; can set priorities and follow a timeline

  • Great attention to detail and excellent communications skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
