National Sales & Partnerships Manager - Rare Disease

What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Franchise Head (Haematology, Nephrology & Transplant) at Alexion, as National Sales & Partnerships Manager you will lead a team of Regional Account Managers and foster strong internal collaboration to achieve exceptional commercial outcomes. You will develop strategies for Key Accounts and serve as a trusted partner to senior hospital decision-makers, impacting tender processes and purchasing choices in line with disease goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach and inspire Regional Account Managers to reach goals and foster an environment of engagement, collaboration, and top performance.
Set national Key Account strategies and territory plans aligned to Disease Plans and metrics, optimising coverage and resources.
Build trusted relationships and strategic partnerships with hospital C suite and senior decision makers; craft value propositions, shape and lead tender strategies and negotiate complex contracts.
Drive launch and competitive readiness, equipping the team with tools and playbooks.
Elevate targeting, analytics, CRM discipline, reporting and forecasting in partnership with Customer Operations & Innovation (COI).
Recruit, mentor and develop sales talent; set clear expectations and design incentive frameworks that reinforce compliant, high-impact behaviours.
Ensure compliance with Medicines Australia Codes, SOPs and pharmacovigilance, and manage sales OPEX and field resourcing responsibly.
Essential for the role:
8+ years’ pharmaceutical/biotech experience with at least 3 years’ people/sales management in a commercial function, with a record of strong team engagement and high performance.
Experience coordinating hospital key accounts, involving Pharmacy Directors and Procurement Leaders, coordinating tender processes, and leading intricate, high-value contract discussions.
Excellent business planning, project management and forecasting skills; experience with segmentation/targeting, CRM, sales reporting, incentive plan implementation and OPEX management.
Effective partnering with Medical Affairs/MSLs, Market Access, COI/Operations, Legal, Finance, and Marketing to align strategies and tailor solutions.
Comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial rare disease environment; flexible and willing to roll up sleeves and execute.
Adherence to Medicines Australia Code, SOPs, and pharmacovigilance; high standards of product expertise and stakeholder relations.
Ability to travel in a field-based nationally focused role.
Excellent presentation and executive level communication; influence across functions and levels, with a B.A./B.Sc in business or a scientific field.
Desirable for the role
Experience in rare disease, haematology, nephrology, oncology or complex indications.
Launch and/or competitive readiness experience in specialised therapies including biosimilars.
Strong connections with hospital executives and pharmacy/procurement teams.
