Accountabilities:
This is a key leadership position in the Global Procurement Risk and Compliance team that will be accountable for leading our governance and compliance agenda in the Global Procurement organization, providing insight and thought leadership on how we execute our AstraZeneca Procurement strategy; ensuring compliance risk is managed within Procurement and across our enterprise. As the Governance and Compliance Lead, you will support the Director of Risk & Compliance and the Global Procurement function to ensure that Compliance strategies and Governance are implemented and managed appropriately. You will be responsible for leading effective compliance program procedures, advising Senior managers and teams, and giving general assistance in relation to compliance programs/issues. You will contribute to strategy and policy decisions at a global and local level. A key focus of the role will be taking today’s governance and compliance activities to the next level, drawing upon external insight/benchmarking and internal data points in order to strengthen the insight and assurance we provide to functional and enterprise leaders. In addition, the role requires a strong focus on efficiency and simplification, to support delivery of wider business objectives. The role will liaise with a wide stakeholder base, including ensuring a strong alignment with other functional areas that share a co-dependence e.g., Global Compliance, Global Operations, and Global Internal Audit.

Essential Skills/Experience:
• Ability to think strategically and then deliver against this, in order to take our governance and compliance approach to the next level.
• In-depth knowledge and experience of modern governance and reporting, and risk and control frameworks, including the three lines of defence.
• Internal and external benchmarking
• Strong experience in gap analysis against policy and minimum control standards (i.e., audit or assurance type activities).
• Credible and influential leader that can develop tangible insights that are relevant to key stakeholders and communicate these effectively.
• Experience of understanding and translating complex business requirements in a dynamic, evolving environment, including strong networking and senior stakeholder management skills, with the courage to challenge, negotiate and influence effectively across businesses and functions.
• Experience of using different data points to deliver new business insights.
• Demonstrates strong strategic leadership and ability to provide clear direction to ensure everybody is working to achieve the same goal.
• Problem solver with ability to navigate complex compliance issues and find pragmatic solutions which are best for the enterprise.
• High ethical standards, operating with absolute discretion and integrity.
• Able to effectively communicate risk and compliance information to a broad audience.
