Typical Accountabilities:
• Provides clear leadership, direction and development to operating teams, whilst defining and implementing improvements to a number of packaging processes
• Establishes the optimum working time to efficiently meet demand – measuring labour effectiveness
• Coaches for Continuous Improvement and development so that individuals can achieve their potential
• Acts as plant representative on departmental projects/improvement activities
• Actively contributes as a member of the Manufacturing Management Team – delivering today’s control key performance indicators plus making the improvements to manufacturing for the future (0-2 years)
• Applies Lean tools, e.g. Pareto, Process Mapping, ‘Waste’ elimination, Standardisation, etc in order to enhance effectiveness of delivery in own area
• Undertakes day-to-day management activity, including running daily and weekly Plan-Do-Check-Act meetings – ensuring 100% of benefits achieved
• Ensures that adequate supervision, instruction and training is provided to ensure a safe system of work. Will discharge accountabilities as defined in letter of delegation

• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 20

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Degree level or equivalent; Experience of working in a manufacturing environment (Safety, Health Environment, process technology and Good Manufacturing Practice etc); Strong communication and influencing skills
• Desirable: Significant experience in similar environment at a management level
