Franchise Lead Biologics
Job Purpose:
- To contribute to the business success through the development and the implementation of actionable marketing strategies leading to profitable and competitively positioned biologics brands portfolio
- Maximize the success of biologic portfolio & contribute actively to the development of the disease area vision and strategy
- To lead a team of Brand Managers/Senior Brand Managers and work on their development
- To support & aid in the on boarding of new AB’s/ BM’s
- To achieve financial objectives, leveraging available resources in the most effective manner
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Operational Brand Management & Customer Excellence
- Lead the delivery of high-quality strategic plans for AstraZeneca Biologics Franchise, launch plans, business action plans and campaign plan in close collaboration with Sales, Medical, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs, Access, Finance and SFE
- Deliver and implement ambitious and customer focused brand strategic plans
- Assess regional opportunities for the biologics portfolio
- Provide clear recommendations to SMT on key business strategies such as budget, key strategic elements, major tactical programs, and any issues having significant business risk.
- Prepare and launch new biologic portfolio within Near East & Maghreb markets
- Develop the key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure successful brands and address gaps and discrepancies
Customers
- Develop deep understanding of customer needs through innovative Market Research techniques and frequent contacts with key stakeholders and customers.
- Develop strong relationship with KOL and represent the company in external meetings
- Put in place effective operation plan in order to optimize relationship plans in collaboration with the BU Manager
- Regular contacts with KOLs to optimize current and future marketing initiatives across multiple channels while bringing innovative solutions
- Identify future opportunities with key stakeholders.
Communication & Promotion
- Lead the cross-functional team to develop all campaign material and all the briefing documents to ensure maximum impact
- Leverage guidelines from global brand team and brief campaign task force accordingly to ensure respect of international guidelines
- Manage actively agencies to ensure optimal use of available financial resources
- Briefing and selection of agency
- Review performance of agency and costs
- Collect adequate feedback on promotional material/items at feedback meetings
- Organize, in collaboration with members of the brand team as required:
- Advisory boards, round tables or other expert meetings
- Speaker/PM Lead Meetings
- Launch meetings
- Be actively involved in the organization of regional and national sales meetings as required
- Ensure full compliance of material / activities with ethical and AZ Pharma code (demonstrate and ensure active respect for values, business ethics, local laws, policies and marketing procedures)
Cross -Functional Relations
- Act as a key element of the cross-functional team
- Able to work among virtual highly matrixed teams with proven effectiveness.
- Able to lead cross-functional meetings, drive collaboration and alignment across multiple markets
Minimum Criteria and Competencies:
Internal candidates:
- minimum 2 years of experience in Astrazeneca as Senior Brand Manager
- For internal candidates: R&I experience is a must
External candidates:
- Bachelor’s degree of pharmacy, Life sciences, medicine or chemistry with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in pharmaceutical marketing is required
- Minimum of 3 years as senior marketing experience
- Prior leadership experience managing teams and marketing budgets
- Biologics experience is a must
- Proven experience in managing product launches, brand positioning and lifecycle management
- French language is a plus, English language is a must
- Willingness to travel extensively for fieldwork, business meetings, conferences and stakeholders meetings
- Ability to network across geographic and cultural boundaries
- Strategic planning: ability to design and implement effective marketing strategies
- Market research & analysis: understanding of market trends, competition and customer needs
- Product management: knowledge of portfolio management, forecasting and pricing strategies
- Leadership & communication: strong team leadership, stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Digital marketing: familiarity with digital tools, CRM platforms & multichannel campaigns
- Excellent project management skills and excellence in execution
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Business acumen and good knowledge of P&L development
