Thesis work description:  

This master’s thesis takes advantage of rapid technological advances in large-scale omics, especially in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and related technologies. These advancements have revolutionized our understanding of the molecular processes underlying diseases, leading to more effective and safer personalized medicines. In this lab-based role, you will join AstraZeneca's largest European omics wet lab, applying cutting-edge transcriptomics approaches to advance the biological understanding and drug development for various immunological and inflammatory disorders. 

Key Objectives: 

  • Apply Transcriptomics Techniques - Utilize advanced transcriptomics methodologies to investigate the molecular underpinnings of immunological and inflammatory disorders. 
  • Enhance Biological Understanding - Contribute to the biological understanding of disease mechanisms by analyzing transcriptomic data in the context of treatment responses. 
  • Support Drug Development Efforts - Assist in the development and optimization of drug candidates by leveraging omics data to identify potential therapeutic targets. 
  • Personalized Medicine Applications - Explore how transcriptomic insights can be translated into more effective and safer personalized treatment strategies for a variety of diseases. 
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams - Work alongside interdisciplinary teams of scientists and researchers to integrate transcriptomics with other omics technologies and biological insights. 

Essential Requirements: 

  • Ongoing master’s studies within Bioscience
