Director, Study Management (Cell Therapy)
The Director, Study Management (DSM), is a strategic and operational leader responsible for directing the Study Management team in the delivery of both drug and non-drug clinical projects within R&D. You will ensure resource allocation, capability development, and understanding of global Clinical Operations strategies. The DSM will embed ways of working across hubs and build functional excellence within Cell Therapy study management.
You will help develop talent, ensuring compliance while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure successful study execution aligned with organizational goals. You will report to the VP & Global Head of SMM Oncology.
You Will:
Define the Cell Therapy Study Management vision aligned with Clinical Operations and Cell Therapy priorities.
Manage the Cell Therapy Study Management team, attracting and retaining top talent.
Foster a high-performing team culture through feedback.
Support capability building and provide mentorship to both direct reports and junior colleagues.
Champion diversity of thought and inclusive leadership practices.
Allocate study managers to projects to ensure quality delivery of clinical trials.
Monitor project performance and address resourcing or execution challenges.
Collaborate across departments and geographies to enhance project delivery.
Work with senior partners on progress and risk mitigation strategies.
Contribute to the broader business strategy by identifying and acting on improvement opportunities.
Partner with global study leads and leadership to ensure accurate forecasting resource planning.
Partner with global hubs to standardize and improve operations, improving efficiency and quality.
Provide expert input to global process development and technology programs supporting clinical delivery.
You Have:
Bachelor's degree in medical or biological sciences.
A minimum of twelve (12)years of experience in clinical research/drug development; with a minimum of five (5) years in people leadership.
Demonstrated expertise in study management within a global pharmaceutical environment.
Lead teams, resolve conflicts, and manage performance.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Experience with Cell Therapy or complex biologics.
Lead through change in a matrixed environment.
Desirable:
Advanced degree (MS, MBA) in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
Recognized industry expert with a external network and up-to-date on industry trends.
Experience advocating for innovation in clinical trial delivery to lead efficiency and improvement.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,566.40 to $243,849.60. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles).
