Are you ready to lead and innovate in the world of automation? As the Lead Automation Engineer - Integrated Systems, you'll be at the forefront of managing key Manufacturing Systems at College Park. Your expertise will drive the oversight of systems such as the Non-Qualified Building Management System (NQBMS), Qualified Building Management System (QBMS), Small Scale Process Equipment (SSPE), Vendor Packaged Equipment (VPE), and Continuous Control of Clean Utilities. We are looking for a seasoned professional to ensure these systems operate seamlessly within our advanced pharmaceutical facility, adhering to regulatory standards and achieving operational excellence. Accountabilities

Leadership and Strategic Direction


- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all automation activities, ensuring system integration and alignment with business goals.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

System Design, Operation, and Maintenance
- Direct the design, implementation, and maintenance of the NQBMS, QBMS, SSPE, VPE ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Lead complex troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts across these systems, applying technical expertise to ensure minimal disruption to operations.

Regulatory Compliance and Documentation


- Ensure all relevant systems adhere to stringent pharmaceutical regulations and standards (e.g., GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11), maintaining full compliance and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Vendor Management


- Act as the primary technical liaison between manufacturing, quality assurance, and utilities management, ensuring operations align with strategic objectives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors, coordinating services and upgrades essential to maintaining high system standards and cost-efficiency.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation


- Drive initiatives to improve system efficiency, energy usage, and overall sustainability, leveraging the latest technologies and industry best practices.
- Lead efforts to stay at the forefront of emerging trends in automation technology, integrating innovative solutions to enhance operational excellence.

Essential Skills/Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Controls) or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in managing complex Manufacturing systems within pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Proven expertise in both qualified (GxP) and non-qualified systems, with particular emphasis on Siemens Desigo and SIEMENS PLC-based platforms.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11) and system integration protocols.
- Strong technical expertise in HVAC controls, environmental monitoring, and Manufacturing Automation systems.
- Exceptional leadership and project management skills, able to prioritise and oversee multiple initiatives effectively.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills/Experience

- An advanced degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience leading energy efficiency and sustainability efforts in manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with a variety of BMS platforms beyond Siemens Desigo.
