Director, Connected Factory Global Process Owner

Join Alexion, AstraZeneca's rare disease unit, as the Director, Connected Factory Global Process Owner (GPO) and play a pivotal role in transforming our manufacturing processes. This senior leadership position is essential for optimizing our "door to dispatch" processes across global manufacturing sites. As the GPO, you will drive operational and digital excellence by integrating technology, data, and process standards, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to eliminate silos and prioritize investments, aiming to achieve a Connected Factory across our Alexion Operations network by 2027. Be part of a network of Process Owners dedicated to enhancing end-to-end processes and digital transformation, ultimately impacting patients' lives worldwide.

Accountabilities

• Process Standardization & Optimization: Analyze and improve end-to-end processes across technology operations, manufacturing, QA, and QC.
• Investment Decisions: Establish governance forums for decision-making and manage technology change requests with IT.
• Technology Roadmap: Lead the Connected Factory technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with objectives and digital strategy.
• Risk Management: Oversee risks associated with process changes and technology implementations.
• Strategic Roadmap: Collaborate on defining a strategic roadmap for digital transformation across Alexion Operations.
• E2E Analytics & Innovation: Support E2E analytics solutions and innovations across the value chain.
• Enterprise Leadership: Serve as a key stakeholder for business process, data, and digital networks.
• Change Management & Capability Building: Guide change management initiatives for successful adoption of new processes.
• Performance Management: Ensure process integrity by identifying performance gaps and implementing metrics.
• Collaboration: Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams and external partners for continuous improvements.
• Best Practices: Align and standardize processes based on the Business Process Framework.
• Culture & Capabilities: Promote a culture of process improvement and digitization.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality Biotechnology, or a related field
• Improvement and innovation-mindset, with ability to partner in a matrixed and global organization
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality control processes within Biotech/Pharma industry
• Proven success in leading global process standardization or digital transformation initiatives
• Deep understanding of GMP operations and digital systems within a factory setting
• Robust knowledge of digital technologies and analytics such as MES, LIMS, QMS, IoT, or data analytics platforms
• Strong strategic and systems thinking
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence and foster collaboration across teams 
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effectively articulating vision, changes and impacts across multiple audiences

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s in Engineering or Operations Management)
• Experience in implementing digital transformation initiatives within manufacturing operations
• Operational excellence qualifications such as Lean Six Sigma
• Experience in a multi-site operational leadership role
