Accountabilities
Data Governance Strategy and Operations: Develop standardized processes for efficient data governance activities and report on their performance.
Data Privacy: Provide guidance on privacy matters, support documentation of Records of Processing Activities, and oversee risks in Privacy Impact Assessments.
Data Transfer: Ensure compliance with data protection laws for cross-border data transfers and collaborate with legal teams to align practices with regulations.
Data Sharing and Partnerships: Manage third-party data sharing requests and facilitate necessary data transfers while ensuring due diligence.
Data Policy, Compliance, and Risk Management: Roll out enterprise data policies, provide feedback on business requirements, and support process owners.
Data Licensing Management: Oversee data licensing agreements, ensure compliance, and maintain records of licensing activities.
Community Engagement: Educate collaborators on data governance concepts through presentations and internal platforms.
Data Standards and Quality Management: Drive the design and implementation of data standards frameworks and metrics.
Essential Skills/Experience
- Demonstrable experience of working in a data office, data governance or data management role
- Domain knowledge of life sciences/pharmaceuticals; manufacturing; corporate finance; or sales & marketing
- Knowledge of data protection principles and regulation (e.g. GDPR)
- Strong knowledge of data privacy and data governance principles
- Good change management skills
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Proficient in Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Experience of maintaining information and documentation using collaboration tools (e.g. SharePoint)
- Good attention to detail
- Conceptual and strategic thinker
- Confident engaging and managing stakeholders at all levels
- Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Knowledge of data privacy, cross border transfer and data licensing
- Experience of working in a complex, diverse global organisation
- Knowledge of ethical and regulatory aspects of the use of data within AI and analytics
- Experience with Data privacy and Governance tools
- Experience of producing and delivering training
