Are you a digital expert with a passion for virtual innovation? Join our Global Meetings and Events (GME) team as a Virtual Meeting Manager, reporting to the GME Regional Director. We are looking for a highly proficient individual with strong project management, problem-solving, and logical skills. You will need to be organized and resourceful, capable of pulling together the necessary resources to deliver successful virtual and hybrid events. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as you will work across different levels of meeting owners, representing the GME brand at every opportunity. Thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and collaborate with other areas as needed. Contribute to broader organizational and company goals while understanding business objectives and corporate culture.
Accountabilities
As the GME Project Manager, you will drive best-in-class meeting and event planning services that are cost-effective and deliver value to AstraZeneca. You will have end-to-end accountability for internal and external meeting execution (face-to-face, virtual, and hybrid), liaising with business owners, sourcing, and logistics partners to ensure success. This includes vendor review and negotiation, overseeing website development, attendee management, compliance, and final program billing and reconciliation. Some travel may be required to assist with on-site logistics for larger, more complex meetings.
Essential Skills/Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 8-11 years of experience in continuous improvement, optimization, and results delivery.
Expert in Cvent Event Management.
Experienced in planning large meetings/events (100+ attendees).
Strong financial/budget skills.
Detail-oriented with process control and analytical thinking.
Proficient with virtual tools like Zoom and virtual venues.
Embraces new technologies, self-learning, and training others.
Compliance-focused with adherence to guidelines and policies.
Independent problem-solver.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
Desirable Skills/Experience
Procurement, Commercial Excellence, or Marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
Experience in meetings & events technology (Cvent, StarCite) is beneficial.
Meeting management and/or Travel industry experience.
Experience in shared services and working with 3rd party providers.
Over 3 years of Project Management experience.
