Electrical Systems Engineer
Typical Accountabilities
- Ensure compliance with SHE and GMP programs and procedures for systems under your responsibility.
- Establish and monitor governance, programs, and procedures for the site's electrical system, ensuring all SOPs and related documentation (e.g., OCMs and MoPCs) remain compliant and up to date at all times.
- Be responsible for the administration of maintenance programs for the site's electrical system and infrastructure, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure the reliability of the site's electrical system and infrastructure at all times.
- Serves as owner of the infrastructure and critical equipment such as Main Sub-station, Switch gear, CHP units, emergency generators, PV Solar systems, UPS and the Power Logic Monitoring system. Responsible for the ALCM (Asset Life Cycle Management on these equipment.)
- Lead and/or support the implementation of complex projects, including integration with other power generation systems such as cogeneration, PV solar, external power grid supply, emergency generators, and other energy sources.
- Ensure key spare parts are maintained on-site for execution during unpredictable events.
- Coordinate and lead the execution of major electrical repairs and shutdowns for maintenance.
- Coordinate with relevant agencies to establish temporary power generation during business interruptions (both planned and unplanned), including permit acquisition.
- Maintain operational PV solar and/or alternate power generation systems to allow site operation on alternate power when the power grid is unavailable.
- Develop, maintain, and execute duties according to the annual budget for areas of responsibility.
- Develop projects from start to finish, including business cases for process improvement projects (e.g., CO2 reduction, electrical system upgrades, business continuity).
- Work collaboratively with the maintenance team, PET, resident contractors, and project support teams, as well as other BUAs, to support with equipment electrical troubleshooting.
- Automate systems to simplify and enhance workforce flexibility programs, focusing on efficiency. This includes streamlining the Peak Shave protocol for seamless integration with all power generation systems. Incorporating AI as technology matures in applicable areas such as integration of the power logic with the BMS system.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC and VFD equipment as needed.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in electrical systems.
- Follow all current GMP, SHE, and company procedures diligently.
Education / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Control Engineering or Software Engineering, is preferred. Requires five (5) or more years of proven experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing with technical knowledge in CHP and control systems.
- Awareness of safety and GMP standards.
Language:
- Fully Bilingual. Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, journals, financial reports, and other documents related to area of responsibility. Able to respond upon to business needs. Able to write reports or business correspondence. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Computer skills:
- Full competency in all Microsoft Office applications. Experience using software electrical applications of systems such as Power Logic, BMS by JC, SAP, etc.
Licenses and registrations:
- Professional Engineer License preferred.
