Corporate Affairs Director CE
Position purpose
- Leads the Corporate Affairs function for CE and contributes to the development of Corporate Affairs strategies and policies.
- Contributes to engagements with key internal or external groups, such as Corporate Affairs and Market Access colleagues, Therapy Area Teams, industry associations, embassies, politicians, government lobbyists and regulators.
- Contributes to the full AZ CE enterprise strategy as a member of CE Cluster Senior Management Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages and develops effectively CE Corporate Affairs Team
- Develops with Corporate Affairs (CA) team CA strategies relevant for country healthcare ecosystem and therapy areas in close collaboration with all relevant functions (market access, commercial, medical, IBEX).
- Ensures that CA projects and activities are fully aligned with countries strategies and integrated with other functions plans.
- Ensures that AstraZeneca builds and maintains effective networks with important external and internal contacts, and leverages these in the most effective manner.
- Strengthens channels used for internal and external communications at the most strategic level.
- Develops CA capabilities across the organisation with aim to maximize the impact of diverse activities across the organization.
- Demonstrates the benefit of the Corporate Affairs function, including its positive return on investment, by broadly communicating it’s impact within AstraZeneca.
- Champions the role of Corporate Affairs within own market and AstraZeneca.
- Manages effectively CE CA budget.
- Being part of CE Cluster Senior Management Team contributes to the full AZ CE enterprise.
Other responsibilities
- Complying with AstraZeneca Core Values, Code of Ethics, Global Policies, Ethical Interaction Policy, Internal Regulation and all other policies standards and procedures stated by AstraZeneca CE, as well as industry codes of practice;
- Responsibility to comply with health & safety policies and procedures, and to report all accidents (including car accidents), occupational illnesses, incidents and other abnormal deviation to the Line Manager;
- Responsibilities and tasks of the jobholder are not limited to those listed herein; other duties, as assigned by Line Manager within the scope of the current Job Description, may be part of the job.
- University degree – preferably in social politics, or communication& PR, or marketing, or related
- Extensive experience in one or more areas of communications or Corporate affairs
- A curious connector; an ability to work strategically with cross functional stakeholders
- Extensive experience in the healthcare sector, deep understanding of the healthcare/reimbursement environment
- Matrix cross functional teams and international team management experience
- Strong communicator; excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills with attention to detail. Understanding of new media, especially social media.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; asking challenging ‘why’ questions, suggesting new opportunities and navigating through ambiguous situations.
- Curiosity and learning agility; comfortable with change.
- Proud to serve patients and consider them in every decision taken. Strive to understand the needs of diverse patient populations and act accordingly.
