Position Summary

Alexion is strengthening its’ commercial team to manage sustained growth of the core indications and expansion into new therapy areas. This position will report into the Iberia Finance Director, Spain. 

The Commercial Operations and Insights Senior Analyst will be managing processes and systems to drive Commercial Insights and Sales Force Planning for Iberia.  This role will have as main responsibilities: Commercial Insights, Advanced Analytics, Sales Force Excellence, and Incentive Compensation and supporting the identification and execution of value-added projects.

The person in this position will maintain close ties with the International Teams within Commercial Operations and IT to provide input and collaborate on global projects and in close collaboration with the TA’s Iberia Leads.

Principal Responsabilities:

Execute a daily and monthly indication report for all products with insights and actionable recommendations. Be proactive in identifying business challenges & opportunities and propose solutions. Collaborate on monthly meetings with Finance & TA Leads on product performance and follow up on next steps.

Collaborate with International Commercial Excellence and Insights on collecting Insights from the local Market research plans that he/she is coordinating within Iberia and partnering on the implementation with International Market Research plans.

Execute and follow up essential KPIs to be tracked on a regular basis, insightful analysis and recommendations.

Facilitate the implementation of Sales Force effectiveness projects.

Embed the use of Advanced Analytics/Power BI to support Alexion marketing teams and management by enabling high quality, evidence-based decision making. 

Proactively provide all the necessary insights for the Business Reviews and Planning Cycles, understanding the key drivers identifying potential areas of opportunity.

Respond with high quality to ad hoc project requests with a sense of urgency and fully addressing the needs of stakeholders

Support the digital transformation within Alexion with a specific focus on the role of commercial operations, in particular providing guidance on analytics & dashboards to drive added value decision support.

The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the above-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.

Education and qualifications

  • 5+ years of Analytics, Sales Force Effectiveness, Commercial Operations, Market research experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech companies.
  • Experience in developing and designing motivational and effective Incentive Plans
  • Demonstrated abilities in data analysis.
  • Strong analytics and business planning skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbally and in writing) and ability to translate analysis for various stakeholders.
  • Experience working on Sales Force Effectiveness projects, either in a field or office-based role.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience using technology to work efficiently with datasets such as scripting and statistical software packages is a plus
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.  Ability to work with complex data sets, formulate an analysis plan to derive insights
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing conditions
  • Self-starter who demonstrates energy and enthusiasm, bringing a positive can-do approach to all challenges
  • Detail-oriented
  • Fluency in English both written and oral mandatory, fluency in other languages is a plus
