Introduction to role

The Associate Director of Marketing Automation and Orchestration Platforms at Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease ensures the RDU IT Capabilities and Platforms across Commercial, Patient Services, and Market Access functions are technically supported. This role is crucial to ensure the outcomes of the IT development and operations teams meet business needs. This role reports to the RDU IT Director of Integration and Martech within the Enabling Functions IT – Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease.

The purpose of the role includes facilitating and assuring the abilities of the RDU IT Marketing automation and orchestration applications of the enterprise, contributing to the evolution of software development and operations, targeting state-of-the-art platform and application architectures, handling a portfolio of technology offerings and leading internal initiatives to improve our current application footprint and provide innovation in IT capabilities.

You will work with IT Business partners and lead/drive several key IT initiatives and teams related to IT Marketing Automation and Orchestration, Product-based methodologies and roadmaps, Product & Service Catalogues, IT Change Management, and organizational evolution.

Accountabilities

- Being the Global Primary Point-of-Contact for Marketing Automation and Orchestration Platforms, and Alexion’s related practices for development and operations of it.
- Partner with ITBPs to identify needs across projects, handle business demand, and set the accurate strategy and support processes across the products lifecycles.
- Lead delivery of MarTech for business.
- Uphold MarTech assets reusability as a central tenet in solution delivery.
- Define the product vision and strategy by developing an unobstructed vision and roadmap for continuous advancement of the led platforms.
- Decide on the right approach and mechanism for MarTech platforms and related tools, processes, and practices.
- Ensures service acceptance criteria is met before service transition to the support team.
- Support and maintenance of Martech and related practices (such as DevSecOps) in production.
- Global Escalation point for IT business partners and business.

Essential Skills/Experience

- Demonstrated ability and/or a consistent record of success -leading teams and as single contributor- in IT Marketing Automation and MarTech environments
- Proven record in leading change in organizations, developing pivotal initiatives and/or process improvement programs
- Advance expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, MarTech architecture, agile methodologies, and release management.
- Ability to navigate optimally in a matrix handled environment, including accountability to multiple leaders.
- Expertise in resource and budget management and prioritization frameworks
- Demonstrate advanced problem solving, communication, analytical, critical thinking, and business acumen skills.
- Speak up mindset to challenge the status quo and raise and gain consensus for recommendations.
- The ability to be an initiative-taker, results-driven, and effective at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks concurrently.

Desirable Skills/Experience

- Strong leadership skills, with ability to advise and engage teams to achieve strategy and performance objectives
- Expertise in project management, design, and IT Service Management
- Technical knowledge of Zaidyn Orchestration Engine, Veeva CRM, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Health Cloud
- User level knowledge of ServiceNow, JIRA, GitHub, Mulesoft, Confluence
- Solid understanding of Generative Ai (ChatGPT), Project Portfolio Management Tools
- Excellent decision-making and critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve sophisticated escalated issues.
- Project Management Institute (PMI), Agile Methodologies certifications or similar formal training/experience required.
- Work experience within Biotech or Pharmaceutical is preferred.
- A bachelor’s degree, MBA, or equivalent level of experience.
- The ability to relate well to a wide variety of diverse styles, types, and classes; open to differences; effective up, down, sideways, inside, and outside; builds diverse networks; quick to find common ground; treats differences fairly and equitably; treats everyone as a preferred customer.
