Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Baar, Switzerland (hybrid)

Introduction to role:

Join our QA team at the AstraZeneca Swiss Marketing Company, where you will ensure quality oversight, maintain our license to operate, and foster an environment of continuous improvement in collaboration with our global functions.

Accountabilities:

  • Prepare the releases of medicinal products and medical devices for the Swiss market.
  • Ensure that the medicinal products and the medical devices are manufactured, transported and stored in accordance with the regulations; this means monitoring the specifications, the test methods, the storage regulations, the expiry dates and the packaging materials.
  • Handle quality complaints and returns.
  • Be in close contact and involved in reporting quality defects and recalls to Swissmedic.
  • Support the Responsible Person in supplier and customer assessments.
  • Support the GDP inspections in Switzerland.
  • Audit support.
  • Be a GDP expert and perform self-inspections, handle deviations and CAPAs. Change management and risk management are also part of your tasks.
  • Create and revise GDP SOPs.
  • Perform Product Quality Report reviews.
  • Supervise the Quality Agreements with the manufacturers and with service providers.
  • Ensure that all AstraZeneca employees in Switzerland are trained in quality.
  • The job holder will be the deputy Responsible Person.

Crucial Skills/Experience:

  • Academic science degree, preferably in pharmacy (MA)
  • Experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry (QA or similar role), public Pharmacy or hospital Pharmacy is preferred
  • Organized, structured, and accurate working manner
  • Experience in cross-functional teams
  • GMP/GDP knowledge
  • Proficient in German and English, French an advantage
  • Strong communication skills
