Country Finance Controller

  Will have expert knowledge of finance processes and procedures as applied to a major department/ functional area and or part of the business. Will have an expert knowledge of the function/business area in which they sit and be able to facilitate the efficient use of financial processes and measurement to meet business direction and need. Will implement and influence the setting of the financial strategy. Will have professional financial skills extensive experience of applying financial solutions in a business environment.

Typical Accountabilities

  • Ensure accounting reporting and recording is in line with local tax and accounting regulation and global policy without any major issue
    • Manage day-to-day financial activities in compliance with company policies
    • Manage month/year-end closing process – Accrual journal entry (Manpower, A&P, function cost, etc), Accrual list update/review, Cost Access file management
    • Assist to prepare and close annual financial statements i.e. Income statement, Balance Sheet, this will include dealing directly with the audit team and their queries and managing company legislative documentation
    • Make and implement recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
    • Resolve complex accounting issues or assist other Authority personnel in resolving financial issue
    • Submit tax returns / filings / withholding tax / VAT / others accurately and timely
    • Manage banking and treasury relationships (including intercompany netting settlement report to BoK, guarantee of payment, bank credit limit documentation, intercompany loan, dividend)
    • Manage transfer price risk and BEPs documentation

  • Delivery Financial Targets and score card
    • Collaborate with regional finance teams and KAM team in achieving cash targets (such as DSO, Cash metrics)
    • Closely monitoring on cost during month end closing to meet the budget

  • Strengthen financial controls & compliance
    • Internal & external financial reporting, audit requests, general support and other ad hoc projects as necessary
    • Ensure FCF (financial control framework) process per group timeline and requirements
    • SOPs are reviewed and updated with the current compliant requirement to ensure adequate control in place
    • Ensure employee exit procedures are completed
    • Fixed assets counting on a regular basis and Asset list review
    • Provide finance related trainings to employees
    • Master data management – Price change, Doctor vendor, Enigma code (CC & IO), Asset code
    • Finance system management – Communication with contact point (GTE, NewGen, etc)
    • Others – Part-timer management, Group insurance questionnaire, Tax invoice handling, other compliance support

Essential

  • University degree in Finance / Business / Economics
  • 5 + year’s experience in financial management
  • Strong Financial control background
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory/statutory requirements and governance principles/SOX
  • Advanced financial modelling skills (Excel)
  • Fluent English

Desirable

  • CTA / CPA preferred

  • Experience in Pharma/Biotech /Medtech environment preferred
