We are looking for an expert Reward Partner for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines (SIMP) cluster of markets. You will be based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and be part of the SIMP HR Center of Expertise (CoE) team, taking a leading role in the Reward agenda for SIMP, as well as contributing to regional and global Reward projects.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Partnering closely with HR Business Partners to continuously engage with business to provide insight and analysis that will ensure that AZ remains competitive in its ability to hire and retain the best talent.

  • Deliver and maintain local total reward practices and policies in line with global standards with the strive to attract and retain talent.

  • Plan and deliver the in-country annual compensation review.

  • Conduct in-country benchmarking using core Reward methodologies e.g. job evaluation, Total Direct Compensation analysis and market pricing.

  • Use training & education material provided by global to increase reward knowledge across business leaders and the HR function

  • Interpret local legislative changes, assess local impact and propose solutions

  • Ensure country practices are within the Global AZ governance framework, leading proposals through the process, providing local mentorship on governance requirements, and keeping HRBPs updated on developments with a governance implication.

  • Undertake salary negotiations with unions in conjunction with other in-country HR resources. Take the lead in identifying and communicating the key points of AZ position on in-country reward as part of negotiation process.

  • Provide local compensation insights and analysis based on external trends

  • Lead local compliance analysis and reporting as required


You are the ideal candidate if you express a high level of integrity, have an ability to prioritise activities and are comfortable engaging in difficult or challenging discussions to deliver the right reward outcome. You have the ability to drive and complete multiple complicated projects simultaneously as well as:

  • Proven deep understanding and expertise in Reward practices, and able to act as the key point of contact and as a trusted advisor for senior HR and business stakeholders in the country

  • Experience in delivering end-to-end reward changes for multi-country in a large, sophisticated multinational company

  • Led organisational change and communication of significant reshaping of reward approach

  • You are educated to Degree Level. Post graduate degree is desirable.

  • You have 5-7 years of experience in Rewards / a Manager or Lead in Rewards currently.

  • Well-developed people skills and ability to engage, influence and negotiate with major partners and internal clients

  • Experience of handling contracts with third party suppliers

  • HRIS systems experience helpful
