Global Data Steward – Customer Master Data

This role will focus on the CustomerMaster Data. Objects will include various aspects of Customer Master data that support key business processes such as Contract to Cash (C2C). The Data Steward is responsible for supporting the Master Data Custodian to maintain the fitness and use of one or more master data dimensions. Working within GBS Data Office (GDO) and a wider community of finance data stewards and all relevant business users, the successful role-holder is responsible to maintains the quality and integrity of master data though the development and embedding of standards, education of users, and oversight of data management practices.
A data steward will also work closely with their colleagues across DMT BAU teams to share best practices, develop knowledge and capability in BAU teams to raise competency to expected levels to meet current and future business needs and contribute to process and technical expertise to process improvement initiatives. Applicants must be experienced in overall master data processes and needs to have knowledge and experience of data and the business processes that consume the data.
Accountabilities
- Direct and support initiatives to cleanse and improve data.
- Provide SME support for local data stewards and DMT BAU teams.
- Provide analysis support to business change projects.
- Support training & communications, on changes to data standards to business users, data stewards, other participants in the data governance community.
- Support users in the use of data quality reporting.
- Support further requirements for data quality dashboards and monitoring tools.
- Support Custodians in managing the Data Working groups.
- Support data issue log, risk registers and process improvement related to data quality initiative.
- Support in reviewing, creation and maintenance of data document and ensure that it’s done in the right format.
- Ad hoc analytical support as required by the Custodians to support issues/risks and initiatives to maximise the value from information.
- Lead on sub project group or task group when assigned.
- Back up responsibilities of other GDO Data Steward during his/her absence.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience of working with customer master data, systems (SAP) or processes e.g. ordering, billing or account receivables.
- Experience in the definition, maintenance and use of customer master data (knowledge about order to cash process and data dependency.)
- A ‘Can do’ attitude to understanding & helping resolve data issues.
- High level of proficiency with common business applications (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint)
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of SAP and business knowledge on AZ business model e.g., distributor, pharmacies, etc.
- Good Engagement & communication and skills
- Experience of working in a global organisation with complex/geographical context.
- Pharmaceutical business awareness
