About Our team

We lead AstraZeneca’s MDM (Master Data Management) enterprise initiative, focussing on enterprise master data standards, data governance, data integrity and driving FAIR agenda of organisation with master data. We focus on identifying the master data entities of the enterprise, managing the roll out of MDM solution for the identified entities and helping business realize the value of high-quality master data. Centralized, trusted, and high-quality master data is key for accelerating our business processes as we empower the enterprise functions with digital capabilities, to innovate at speed and make effective data driven decisions. We are working to establish a strong MDM capability, built on the latest healthcare domain standards, to collaborate effectively with our business partners internal and external to AstraZeneca.

What you’ll do

As an MDM Lead Consultant– You will lead a team of MDM data engineers to build high quality MDM solutions, in challenging business landscape.

• You will deliver high quality technical design, aligning with the enterprise MDM and Integration standards, translating the master data requirements from enterprise business functions spanning across, R&D (Research and Development), Commercial, Enabling functions and Operations.

• You will collaborate with our MDM business stakeholders, solution architects, tech leads, data stewards, business analysts and data quality assurance analysts, to deliver high quality MDM solutions into production.

• You will work with MDM Product Advisory Council to perform impact analysis for MDM demands across the enterprise, estimate the effort required for building the solutions and prioritise the work for Agile Program Increments.

• You will review the code of the MDM engineers, to ensure alignment with enterprise coding standards, ensure high quality automated unit testing and code management practices.

• You will work with DevOps engineers, to automate the code review, deployment and rollback processes of MDM.

• You will be creating clear documentation for MDM solutions, provide knowledge sharing and transition the solution to BAU team, post the successful go-live and warranty phase.

Essential Skills

• Solid experience in technical leadership, mentoring MDM team of size 10.

• Deep technical delivery experience, rolling out medium and large MDM projects.

• Proficient in MDM technical design, industry standards, best patterns, and unit test automation practices.

• Experience in communicating with collaborators, providing leadership and guidance to MDM project teams, and monitoring and reporting on progress and outcomes to leadership.

• Hands-on experience in building MDM solutions using technologies, such as Reltio or similar.

• Hands-on experience in building REST APIs and Integration using technologies, such as MuleSoft, SnapLogic or similar.

• Strong engagement, communication, and partner leadership skills

• Proficient in English both verbal and written.

• Good written documentation skills.

Desirable Skills

• Experience of working in a regulated environment (GxP or similar)

• Experience in MDM Architecture and Data Modelling principles.

• Working in ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) or similar landscapes.

• Coaching skills to guide the team and individuals to succeed in their tech role.

• DevOps experience including deployment automation, code review automation, code repository process automation and code coverage & unit testing automation.
